Unstoppable Life – Part 3

By

UNSTOPPABLE LIFE
“… being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ.” Philippians 1:6

So you begin with the source of your hope and future, asking God to reveal what it is you should be confident in to begin with. The vision gives you belief in the best for your future, so the plan and action steps follow pretty easily. Then you learn to identify and take control of the negative self-talk, which so often derails us from the very beginning of our efforts in establishing forward momentum. Finally, we have to commit to the future.

My girls are of the age, where commitment in their activities is more important than exploring an endless list of new activities. My oldest daughter needed to commit to her future, but like many of us, she had too many competing interests, and was afraid to choose. When she did, she had to learn what a committed effort in her chosen activity looked like. I shared with her the story of an elite athlete.

The athletes that are the best in the world, the ones who take control when the game is on the line, who always seem to have more energy at the end of the game than anyone else, the one who outsmarts its opponent time and again, the athlete who lifts his entire team on his shoulders and says to himself “we will not lose this game”, have 1 thing in common – Unstoppable Commitment.

What you do when nobody is watching determines your ability when everyone is watching. Whether it be shooting 1,000 free throws a day in a quiet gym, hitting 1,000 golf balls on the range until you can’t see, running the trail up the mountain before daybreak, the best of the best are committed to the outcome. Runners don’t become better by running downhill all the time, and neither can you. Resistance is the sign you are progressing in your commitment, and Unstoppable Results are absolutely sure to follow.

My daughter started to make progress at a level she had never experienced before, because she was committed to it. When it got hard, or other options presented themselves, she was able to say “no” because she was committed. She has a newfound confidence in almost every area of her life, because she committed to something special to her, and has become Unstoppable to those around her.

What do you need to Commit to? “You’ll use the old rubble of past lives to build anew, rebuild the foundations from out of your past. You’ll be known as those who can fix anything, restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate, make the family/community livable again.” Doing nothing is not an option, you are Unstoppable!
