Why are Uphill Battles always so… Uphill?

Why is reaching our potential usually such an uphill battle? At least it is for me. I personally seem to struggle daily with extracting all the beauty and opportunity out of each day. I get stuck in ruts, form fruitless habits, thus never reaching maximum effectiveness. I hate mindless habitual behaviors. They keep us in cycles of good and rob us of the great!
The desperation in my heart is remedied by something as simple as vision. Vision takes broken vessels and reconstructs it to become potent, infecting and affecting all who dare enter its path. The person who says ‘yes’ to their God-given vision begins to come alive and thrive like their eyes have not seen before. Things we never had the courage and perspective to see is suddenly revealed, our life begins making sense. Rosabeth Moss Canter puts it very appropriately, “A vision is not just a picture of what could be; it is an appeal to our better selves, a call to become something more.”
We were born not to settle! To those who are like me, who need hope and redemption daily, be encouraged. You have what it takes!
